Kizito Aswani is from a very poor family, educated himself through the support of well wishers and eventually acquired a Masters Degree in Community Development. He started caring for the orphaned children with his wife Linette. His boda boda business currently contributes towards the majority of the daily care of the children.

Ms Sonal Tejpar, Lawyer

​

Sonal is a Partner in the law firm Anjarwalla Khanna Advocates, Nairobi and a recognized and distinguished Lawyer in the region and sits on a number of Boards, including Faraja Cancer Support Trust and Save the Children Fund. Her family has been supporting the children’s home in various ways, including all of its fixed costs since 2016.

Mr Arvind Vohora, Retired Businessman

Arvind has over 35 years experience in design / advertising and marketing . He ran and managed an advertising agency TBWA for many years with accounts such as Emirates , NIC and BAT to mention a few. Until recently sat on the board of Brand Kenya.

Susan Fishman

​

Susan and her various dogs have called the mountains of Colorado her home since 2002. She has been a speech therapist and elementary teacher. She spends much of her time during part time retirement volunteering at the local food bank. She spent 10 weeks volunteering in Kenya in 2024 where she met Aswani and Lindsey and fell in love with the mission of Project of Hope.

Lindsey Arrillaga

Lindsey is a board member of Project of Hope based in California, with a deep passion for connecting and empowering communities worldwide. Currently residing in Australia, she works in disability support services and has spent the past ten years immersing herself in diverse communities across South America, Central America, Asia, and Africa.

 

During this time, she has collaborated on grassroots initiatives addressing a broad spectrum of social issues, including education, women's rights, extreme poverty, sustainable farming, disability services, and health. Lindsey met Aswani in 2023, and after connecting with the children, she was inspired to help grow and support the project further

BOARD SUPPORT​

​

The Board will be supported by a Group of Advisors, led by Mebs Tejpar (well-regarded business transformation specialist from Canada now living in Kenya), (mebstejpar@gmail.com | +254 (0) 704 264 888) with numerous subcommittees, comprised of volunteer well-wishers who are experts in their own fields such as marketing, outreach, PR, events , fundraising, construction , finance, legal and governance as well as community liaison. Operating under the auspices of the NGO Co-ordination Board will ensure total transparency and accountability for the project.
